PERFORMER
Frank van der Ve is a renowned dancer and director who began his artistic journey in Japan, collaborating with Min Tanaka and the Maijuku Performance Company (1983-92). In 1993, he co-founded Body Weather Amsterdam with Katerina Bakatsaki, establishing a platform for training and performance. As one of Europe's leading Body Weather practitioners, Frank regularly performs, directs, and teaches across Europe, the USA, New Zealand, and Australia. He is dedicated to his ongoing worldwide Body/Landscape series, which explores the body as an ever-evolving, pulsating landscape within its surroundings. Additionally, Frank leads the interdisciplinary Bohemiae Rosa Project since 1995, connecting body and landscape with art, geology, and architecture. With 30 years of teaching experience, he has instructed Body Weather at numerous art colleges, universities and cultural institutions worldwide. He has performed in 5 continents since the 1980’s, working together with a broad variety of artists and continues to develop his own style and improvisation practice.
